Me and text: At some point I started writing a weblog in the early 2000s which came to a grinding halt when most of my crowd and “digital neighbourhood” moved over to Facebook, Twitter and all the like. Tried more than once to revive this all along the way without too much “success” (as in “continuously writing posts and having conversations with people who care to read). Too, at some random point started posting snippets of 500 to Mastodon and this somehow got out of hand. Guess that’s where we are. Most of my micro.blog content mirrors my “personal” sort-of-selfhosted weblog on Bludit, as well as some posts coming from older, rarely used Mastodon or Pixelfed accounts which I hesitated to delete by now. And I’m stll not courageous enough to only use micro.blog for that, even while it would generally do. Maybe one day.

(I’m by no means a writer. Or photographer. Or anything like this. I spend my days and some of my nights being a project lead for enterprise search software environments now. Closer to customers and users again after having been writing code and wrestling infrastructure for more than two decades. Still, a good deal of my time involves running Linux systems, writing Groovy or Java code, fighting the evil that docker is. Obviously I’m on a Linux desktop most of the time, not always enthusiastic though. Tech wears off at some point, and we’re all all the time facing too many challenges.)
